" I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."Phillippians 4:13

This memorial website was created to remember our dearest James Edward Kirby ( Jim) who was born in Clinton, North Carolina on February 6, 1942 .He was the light of the world he brought smiles to the faces of everyone he came in contact with. James was in the military for 20 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He took great pride in his military service and was the youngest man to ever become chief petty officer. He then retired and worked at Pathmark for 24 years. The list of achievements he accomplished in his lifetime was incredible. James was an active member in his church, Calvary Temple in Delran; New Jersey and his main priority was putting Jesus first. He volunteered at the local nursing home and lent a helping hand to anyone who needed it.  He had 4 kids, 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He was a beloved husband and left behind his wife of 42 years Catherine Campbell Kirby.

James’ favorite things to do were to go to bible study, talk to his family and spread the word of the Lord. He also loved golfing, listening to jazz and blues music, taking care of his garden and mowing his lawn. His masterpiece was his backyard which he perfected right before he passed. He enjoyed sitting in his sunroom early in the morning watching the birds in his backyard. He was so energetic and full of life everyone enjoyed his presence; he was kind hearted and wise. He didn’t have a bad bone in his body, his sense of humor and sarcasm brought laughter to all who knew him. Even through the hardest times in life he saw the brighter side of it and trusted God through it all. He loved all of his family and his last wishes were for all of them to succeed.

James passed on May 11, 2010 doing one of the things he loved best, mowing his lawn. James will be forever missed by all those who knew him. His memory will live on forever in our minds and hearts. There’s not a soul that can forget his brilliant smile and deep laugh. His wisdom and love of God will be passed on to his family as they try to follow in his footsteps and be half of the amazing person he was. He may be gone but he will never be forgotten.

        Rest In Peace
